Army Special Operations is home to a very poor family care system- leave is short and the support network is minimal, particularly for women. As a result, many female personnel are forced to leave their careers behind in order to raise their families. Through the DoD-sponsored initiative Hacking 4 Defense, my team conducted numerous interviews and surveys to create a policy solution to this problem.
